The International eDNA Standardization Task Force (iESTF) is a global collaborative initiative dedicated to developing and promoting consistent, high-quality standards for environmental DNA (eDNA) methods in biodiversity monitoring and environmental assessment. By bringing together leading researchers, policymakers, industry partners, and standards bodies such as ISO, iESTF works to establish agreed-upon best practices that ensure reliable, comparable, and legally credible eDNA data across contexts and regions. This standardization is crucial for advancing the uptake of cutting-edge eDNA technologies in research, conservation, and environmental management, helping stakeholders trust, implement, and scale these powerful tools for understanding and protecting life on Earth.
